DISNEY CRUISE NEWS
Disney
Wonder Gets a Facelift
The Disney Wonder® is adding several new onboard
venues to accommodate the varied interests of teen and adult
guests while the ship is in dry dock through Oct. 17. One of
the most significant changes is Aloft, which replaces
the ESPN Skybox and becomes the perfect escape for
teens to socialize and relax in the forward funnel of the
ship, high atop Deck 11. The new teen club appeals to both
young and older teens with separate spaces and activities
for each age group.
For adults, Cove Café will offer an indoor
alternative adjacent to the Quiet Cove pool and
replaces the former teen coffee shop, Common Grounds.
Inside, adults can relax with a popular magazine, access
their e-mail, socialize with other guests or enjoy gourmet
coffees, specialty drinks and light fare, throughout the day
or night.
Replacing the former Off Beat venue is Diversions,
a new traditional-style pub located in the ship's nighttime
entertainment district. Guests join together here to cheer
for their favorite sports teams, participate in trivia-based
game shows or sing-along to karaoke.
The Disney Magic®
now has a more adult look
with several new public rooms.
Cove Cafe,
open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, provides a quiet spot
for adults to escape to daily. It features comfortable
furniture, large screen televisions, paperback books and
magazines, four Internet stations, gourmet coffee, specialty
teas, cocktails, sandwiches and desserts. The cafe replaces
Common Grounds, the former teen club.
- Diversions,
a traditional pub, provides guests a broad range of
evening entertainment options with the addition of nightly
themed activities. Here, the Pub Master hosts guests for
sporting events, trivia-based game shows, piano sing-along
entertainment and talent competitions. The decor includes
multiple satellite television screens and specialty game
tables for backgammon, checkers and chess. The pub joins
an already popular line up of spaces on Beat Street,
the nighttime entertainment district reserved exclusively
for adults, and it replaces the nightclub formerly known
as Off Beat.
-
- For teens, Disney
introduces The Stack. This all-new space is
designed with the varied and often hard to please
interests of teens in mind, and is located in the ship's
forward (faux) funnel atop Deck 11. The Stack
replaces ESPN Skybox and delivers
an isolated space, which teens crave. It allows for a
wider range of activities to be hosted in the
teen-dedicated area, including dancing, watching multiple
televisions, accessing the Internet or snacking with
friends.

Porthole Cruise Magazine Names
Disney Cruise Line Best Family-Oriented Line
Disney Cruise Line® has
been recognized as the Best Family-Oriented Line in Porthole
Cruise Magazine’s fourth annual Readers' Choice Award for
Best Family-Oriented Line. This special award recognizes
those cruise lines that across all categories including
dining, amenities, pricing and family cruises.
-------------
What Makes Disney Cruise Line® Different
From All The Other Cruise Lines?
In brief here's why :
* Spacious Staterooms - Disney has some of the largest
staterooms of all of the mass market cruise lines. Their
smallest stateroom is 183 square feet. On average they are
about 260 square feet. (see their brochure for specific
categories) Plus in categories 10 and higher you have a
unique split bath so two people can get ready at the same
time. Imagine that!
* Unique Rotational Dining - You will have a different
dining experience every night in one of their three unique
themes restaurants. Plus your wait staff rotates with you so
you get the variety of a different restaurant location each
night with the consistent service of having the same wait
staff the length of your cruise.
* Castaway Cay - Hands down the nicest private island in the
cruise industry! The ship docks right at the island - no
tendering. Separate beach areas for kids, families and
adults. Island activities include snorkeling, massage
cabanas at the adult beach, boating and biking.
* Fun For All Ages - Separate areas and activities for kids,
families, adults and teens. Most guest trust Disney to have
the best children's programming of any cruise line. Of
course they do. However you may be surprised when you find
out all of the adult exclusive activities they have such as
an adult only restaurant, an adult only beach on Castaway
Cay, an adult only pool on the ship, and adult only spa and
salon and an adult only night club district on deck three.
* Entertainment - It all stated with a mouse. Disney is
first and foremost an entertainment company. You will enjoy
dazzling on board entertainment that only Disney can create.
Their original Disney musicals and shows are Broadway
caliber productions - NOT Las Vegas reviews.
* Legendary Disney Service - They provide the quality Guest
service and attention your clients have come to expect.
Thus this year, several thousand readers cast their ballots,
voting on the magazine's Web site or by mail to their Fort
Lauderdale headquarters. Disney Cruise Line® garnered the
most votes from among the combined entries.
